This depends on the clients insurance plan coverage. In most cases, medical insurance will not pay for non medical care. Contact your insurance carrier to see if home care is covered
Medicaid/MCO's- Medicaid will pay for Home Care Based Services, you will need a U.A.I via Social Services (Uniform Assessment Instrument) in order for this process to start, if paying via Medicaid.
Often, we can have a caregiver to your home with 2-5 business days, there maybe exceptions due to urgency, and family needs. We will make arrangements based on the individuals situation.
We invoice 2 weeks in advance and accept the following forms of payment:
•Credit cards: VISA, American Express,Mastercard, and Discover
•Electronic ACH
•Money Orders
•3rd party payers (Medicaid, VA Benefits, some Long term care insurances)
•Checks
All payments are made directly to Comfort Shield Home Healthcare. And we pride ourselves on paying our staff livable wages. We know we wouldn't be a successful home care agency without our Caregivers and Administration team.
Our service rates include an assigned caregiver(s) that will adhere to your personalized care plan. It also covers continuing education for your caregiver to grow and learn with the client.
Our Clinical and/or Management team will do an unannounced supervisory visit every 30-60 days to ensure the caregivers are doing their jobs and to monitor the well-being of the clients. Also a daily log of tasks while caregivers are working to ensure the care plan is being followed.
Our current service hours for our caregivers are Monday-Sunday 8am-11pm. We know that care is non stop however we do believe in a great work life balance for our caregivers.
Yes, our minimum service requirement is at least 4 hours a day.
No, under VA law home care agencies are not allowed to inject or insert any medications however, we can assist with medication reminders as needed based on clients medication schedule.
We currently offer the option for clients to request a COVID-19 vaccinated caregiver.
YES! However, most Long Term Care Insurances will prefer for the insured (member) to pay upfront for home care services and the Long Term Care Insurance will reimburse the member. Please call your Insurance company for more information.
Our caregivers are trained and certified to provide care. Many do have a background in nursing. We have Personal Care Aides, Certified Nursing Assistants, Nursing Assistants, Home Health Aides, and on our clinical team we have a Registered Nurse as well.
We only bill for mileage when caregivers drive your loved one in their personal vehicle over 20 miles. Our rates per miles are $0.56/mile
